I bought a dodge ram 2500 with a cummins.
I was going to get a 24v common
rail but decided to get this one
because once i finish with the
conversion the next project will
be a straight vegetable oil setup.
Bunuses of this engine compared
to other Cummins seem perfect
for this truck, ,p7100
pump lubrication seems very
good for a svo conversion ,and
its simple to get it run , not that
im scared of the new 24v electronics
because thats what i do every day.

I bought a really nice 06 escalade
Project ,Very straight , never
been in a collision , good!
Starting to coat the firewall with high heat primer
here it is with about 10 mils
or 3 coats of sound deadener stuff
aka herculiner for truck boxes.
I want to be as soundproof as
possible thats why i dissasembled
it from the inside and sprayed the
same stuff inside .
Firewall painted with high heat coating por15
paint matched .
measuring clearences.
Not too much to play with.
Original bracket had to be scraped
engine motor mounts craated
Transmission support welded ,
pushed back 3 inches.
1 inch clearence between
suspension rack & transfer case.
Several "ears" from the transfer case
had to be removed.
Starting to put wiring together
95 % completed , working on transmission
tuning with hptuners and a/c lines.
FEB 2010 UPDATE : The escalade has been
running great ,very very happy, however
few weeks ago i went to glamis and with just a #6 plate,191 dv's, 215 injectors this truck was jammin , when the fun fever kicked in i started making jumps , the scalade 1/2 ton frame could not handle the cummins weight and bent behind the wheels , since then i bought a 2500 suburban and migrated the frame and drivetrain to the escalade , now it has a 8lug 3/4 ton frame ,4l80e trans , push button 4x4 with 4 modes,4low ,4high,2wd,awd.
My next weekend project a 2005 gmc canyon 4x4
This will have a 2003 Jetta 1.9 turbo bio-diesel
tdi-m engine with 4l60e auto

project Goals :
Swap a 6bt Cummins diesel 12v Engine
Retain all factory options ,traction control ,abs,stabilitrak ,suspension controls ,message center ,etc.
